Product Info :: Six-Degree-Of-Freedom Spine Simulator

In conjunction with the University of Washington Applied Biomechanics Lab (Directed by Dr. Randal P. Ching, Associate Research Professor of Mechanical Engineering), Archus Orthopedics has developed a next generation, state of the art, six degree-of-freedom spine simulator.  The Archus-UWABL spine simulator can reproduce typical spinal kinematics by applying loads representative to functional spinal units of the full lumbar region. It is the first instrument that can fully and simultaneously simulate a variety of spinal loading conditions at typical activities of daily living or extreme physiological loading scenarios through a realistic rate of motion.

"The capabilities of this spine simulator allow us to quickly test and iterate multiple design concepts in order to accurately synthesize and fully validate our next generation facet replacement products.”
