Goal

Ensure that wear debris is minimized.

Conclusion

TFAS® articulating surfaces produced very small amounts of wear; comparable to other successful orthopaedic implants. The debris that was produced caused no adverse reactions in surrounding tissues.

Tested per ASTM F-1717 (modified)
Fatigue testing to 10 million cycles
Supports 2-3x maximum static in vivo loads
Supports = 2x maximum fatigue in vivo loads
Integrity of the construct & interconnection mechanisms at 10-million cycles
No dislocation or failure under maximum static loading
